What the app records

YEG Unfogged uses your device's location to detect which of Edmonton's 407 official neighbourhoods you have entered. It stores your location history, the list of neighbourhoods you have visited, first and last visit dates, and your overall exploration progress.

All of this information is written only to local storage on your device. It is used solely to draw your fog-of-war map and your personal statistics inside the app.

What we collect

Nothing. There are no accounts to create and no servers operated by YEG Unfogged. Your data is never uploaded, synced, or transmitted off your phone. We have no ability to see it.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data — because we never have access to it.

Location data

The app requests location access so it can recognise when you enter a new neighbourhood, including in the background. Location processing happens entirely on-device. Your coordinates are never sent anywhere, and you can revoke location access at any time in your device settings.

Location data is used solely for app functionality, is not linked to your identity, and is never used for tracking.

Analytics and tracking

YEG Unfogged contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party trackers. Your movement through the city is not profiled, measured, or shared.

Data deletion

Because your data lives only on your device, you are always in complete control of it. Deleting the app removes all of its stored data. You can also reset your exploration progress from within the app at any time.

Children's privacy

The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children. No data ever leaves the device.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a revised date. Since the app collects nothing, any changes will relate to how the app functions on your device rather than how information is handled by us.
